CAF still uses this?
Comment on: Saturday, May 16th, 2020 by ANDREW KING
You are correct. A capacity that high for a pistol of that caliber was unheard of before the Hi Power because Dieudonn Saive created the double stack magazine *for* the Hi Power because the French wanted a pistol with at least 10 rounds (Browning originally disliked the idea until Saive made one, showed it to him, and sold him on the idea.)

Such a well-regarded pistol the UK military only relatively recently phased them out.

Here in Germany you can get them for around 400-800 $ in good condition and often even with the internal extractor. After the war they were widely used by german and austrian police.

Used both. Great guns. Youre a good shot with that browning. The British military were still using them until recently.

I recently sold a hi-power practical for 3 times what it cost new 30 years ago. Bought a Canik TP9 Elite Combat executive and have lots of cash left over. The Canik is even better than the hype.

A couple of months or so ago a 1967 Browning Hi-Power "T-Series" sold for over $8,000, unfired.

Carry the Glock and hate it. Give me the HP any day of the week.
Comment on: Monday, April 27th, 2020 by IBANEZ 74
In the army (the Netherlands) I got a HP issued as a side arm, that was in the mid 90's. I only can't remember if it was single or double action. Is the HP in this video single action? I have an Umarex replica which is double action, but what is the origionals action?

I was wondering from your experience do you prefer to rack the slide or press the release and why?
Comment on: Friday, April 24th, 2020 by RAY MARKHAM
You used a magazine loader for these weapons. Could you please elaborate on what it is, brand, etc. and how it works. It's much faster and more convenient than loading a magazine without it.

I have an Inglis model Canadian Military Issue they are rated for the Sten gun ammo so +P+... not just +P.... hard to rack the slide on that one the civilian ones are not sprung for the hot ammo like the milspec ones from both sides as you say...

Two years ago when I just turned 21 and knew nothing about guns, I bought a Hi-Power from an old vet that just so happened to stop into the same antique firearms store I was visiting with my dad. He was visiting the shop to sell some old guns he had since he had no use for them any longer (I'm sure he was atleast 85 years old). I told the man his gun was beautiful but I had no idea what it initially was. The man could see the immense interest I had on my face when he showed it to me, and offered the pistol to me for $300 (a price at the time I thought was probably pretty steep). I accepted and to my great surprise I later found out that this particular Hi-Power was manufactured by Inglis in 1944, was given to the British SAS, and oh yea, also goes for around $2000. I really wish I would have asked the man for his name and number because I definitely would have wanted to give him more money for it and to thank him again. I didn't know it until after the fact but offering something like that to me for such a low price is probably the most kind thing anyone has done for me. I also think he just wanted someone to have it that would really appreciate it like I'm sure he did since its in just about mint condition. It'll stay locked up and appreciated in my safe until I pass it down to my kids later in life.
